Industry Growth Centres Initiative

The Australian Government’s Industry Growth Centres Initiative is a new policy direction for Australia that takes an industry-led approach to driving innovation, productivity and competitiveness by focusing on areas of competitive strength and strategic priority.

The initiative aims to enable national action on key issues such as deregulation, skills, collaboration and commercialisation. It will drive excellence, not dependence and create an economy that ensures Australia’s ongoing prosperity.

The Cyber Security Growth Network is one of six Industry Growth Centres being established to deliver the initiative in six industry sectors of competitive strength and strategic priority, these are:

  • Advanced Manufacturing
  • Cyber Security
  • Food and Agribusiness
  • Medical Technologies and Pharmaceuticals
  • Mining Equipment, Technology and Services
  • Oil, Gas and Energy Resources

Each Growth Centre is a not-for-profit organisation, led by a strategic board of industry experts who oversee the operation of the Growth Centre. While Growth Centres are flexible in their approach to addressing barriers to success they are tasked with working closely with industry to set a long-term strategy for their sector.
